The Société Arithmétique de Bordeaux is a non-profit association under the French law of 1901, mostly composed of the members of the Bordeaux Number Theory group. Although the main objective of the association is the publication of the Journal de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux, it also supports the organization of Number Theory conferences and workshops in France and abroad. |

The Journal de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux grew out from the publication of lectures presented at the Bordeaux Number Theory seminar during 1969-1988. The texts of the lectures sent by the speakers, were typed, mimegraphed, collected in volumes and sent to the authors, to various mathematical institutes in France and to all interested persons. Now these volumes are digitized and available online thanks to the electronic archive Digzeitschriften . The publication of the seminar led to the creation, in 1989, of a journal called Séminaire de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux, that changed its name to JTNB in 1993. Since 2005, the journal is published by the Société Arithmétique de Bordeaux. |
